Summary
Bandage scissors are very heavy and sharp with a blade guard on one blade which makes trauma to the patient less likely. I personally prefer a smaller size, approximately 6" in length.
Always buy a better quality bandage scissor. They tend to dull quickly, and higher quality blades last much longer.
