Small Bumps Over Neck & Shoulders during Insect Season

Summary

Small bumps (pea size or smaller) under the skin along the shoulders and neck that develop during fly season, are common. These are are usually the result of fly bite hypersensitivity but can caused by a variety of other conditions.

Take note of the distribution of the bumps. Are they limited to this area? Does the horse seem itchy (pruritic)?
